Who is DCET for?
DCET is for diploma engineering students from all branches who want lateral entry (direct 2nd year admission) into B.E./B.Tech programmes in Karnataka.
How many attempts are allowed?
There is no official limit on DCET attempts. You can appear for the exam multiple times until you secure admission.
Is there negative marking in DCET?
No. DCET has no negative marking. You get +1 for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect or unanswered questions, so attempt every question.
Can students from other states apply?
Only Karnataka diploma holders are eligible for government seats. Students from other states may apply for management quota seats in private engineering colleges.
