According to the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Karnataka and VTU guidelines, the official conversion formula is: Percentage = (CGPA - 0.75) × 10. For example, an 8.5 CGPA equals (8.5 - 0.75) × 10 = 77.5%.
For top-tier colleges like RVCE and BMSCE in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) or Information Science (ISE), General Merit (GM) students typically need a DCET rank within the top 200–400. With category reservation (2A, 3B, SC, ST, or 371J HK region), seats are available up to ranks 600–1200.
